New translation imprint: Avocado House

Jane Friedman reports that Yen Press is launching Avocado House, an imprint for fiction and nonfiction in translation - on the order of a dozen titles a year - so readers can expect a steady pipeline of translated work under its own banner rather than one-off licenses.

For writers and translators, another dedicated line usually means more slots, clearer branding, and a signal that publishers still see translated books as a growth area rather than a niche afterthought next to English-language hits.
